ACTRESS EUCHARIA SPEAKS ON RELIGION AND CHILD OUT OF WEDLOCK 

Nollywood veteran actress turned evangelist, Eucharia Anunobi has opened up on being a single mother and how having a son out of wedlock was a mistake. Excerpts from her interview with the New Telegraph Newspaper 

You once said that your intimidating profile tends to discourage men from asking your hand in marriage; what is happening to your love life?

I can’t remember ever saying such a thing. I don’t know about men being scared of me (chuckles). Well, I will take it that what you are saying is that I’m not in a relationship. Of course you know I would not want to discuss my private life. But I have to tell you what I am doing and what is not happening, I believe in things that are incubating; if it’s meant to come out, it will come out. A lot of people do not know of my commitment to my Christian life too.

How is your son doing? He must have really grown now.

Very well, we thank the God Almighty, the Lord has been faithful.

What is it like being a single parent?

It was not a deliberate choice that I have made, it came by chance, it came by mistake. God does not kill His children who have made mistakes. He would rather sustain them and tell them that He is the owner of all things. The Lord has been sustaining me as a single parent I don’t think about it, all I know is ‘God, you are the one that created me and the child that you gave to me’. So whatever that is needed of me, it was a wrong choice that I made.

Have you tried to reconcile with the father of your son?

When somebody says that I do not want to be a responsible father what do you do? You don’t take a horse to the river and force it to drink.

Is there any plan of settling down, your ideal man?

Of course, why not? Every woman says I want tall black, handsome man. We all need good things. All the good things every normal woman wants, I want it too. He must be somebody who has the spirit of God, someone who has Christ as his backbone.

What is the name of the church or the branch you pastor?

I am an associate pastor with the Fresh Oil Ministry International Church at Egbeda in Lagos. I am an ordained evangelist as well as an apostle; I am a convent speaker in and around the country. I had gone to minister in the United States of America, a lot of West African countries, and I have ministered in a lot of churches in and outside the country and some churches and organisations invite me to be their speaker at their various meetings.

FEMI KUTI GOES FOR SURGERY

Afrobeat maestro, Femi Anikulapo-Kuti has been transferred to an undisclosed Lagos hospital for surgery.

According to information reaching us, the usual Sunday gig that the 53 year old holds at the New African Shrine has been called off.

A statement released by the management of the shrine called for prayers as the veteran musician goes under the knife. However, the cause of ailment could not be ascertained as at press time.

The statement read, “THIS IS TO INFORM OUR FANS AND LOVERS OF AFROBEAT THAT THERE WILL NOT BE SUNDAY JUMP ON 22-11-15 BECAUSE AMBASSADOR FEMI KUTI IS GOING FOR AN OPERATION AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PERFORM FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. WE WILL KEEP ALL UPDATED ON THE SCHEDULE OF WHEN THE POSITIVE FORCE BAND WILL PLAY AS OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH AMBASSADOR FEMI KUTI, AFROBEAT FOREVER!!!!!

I'VE KISSED OVER 200 WOMEN - JIM IYKE

Nollywood bad boy, Jim Iyke can’t stop being controversial. During the week, the actor openly kissed actress Joselyn Dumas on a live show,and went ahead to confess that he has kissed not less than 200 actresses while on different movie sets.

He was a Special Guest on AfricaMagic programme which was anchored by Joselyn Dumas. Responding to a question on why he had to kiss Nadia Buari, upon the latter’s arriving Dubai during the last season of his reality TV show, Jim Iyke Unscripted, the controversial actor said, he has a

habit of kissing women openly, including his sisters.

He narrated a situation where he had to kiss three European ladies who accompanied his girl friend to the airport to welcome him, during one of his foreign trips, adding that he doesn’t see anything wrong with it.

As if that is not enough, Jim Iyke painted another scenario, where he had to kiss four actresses in the presence of their boy friends.

“I have once kissed them on set, and so, when I walked into the room where two of them were with their boy friends, I kissed them one after the other and their boy friends were mad at me. I have also kissed over 200 actresses on set and nobody is talking about it,” he enthused.

He, however, declined to comment on his relationship with Nadia Buari. But there are indications that the two unconfirmed love-birds may be hitting your TV screens again for the second season of Jim Iyke Unscripted. Jim disclosed that the reality show will soon hit the screens again.

Explaining the idea behind the show, Jim Iyke said, he needed to present a true picture of who he is, to the world.

 “I have to be introspective. Many times, a lot of negative things have been said about me in the media. It is not basically about what they say about you, it is about you believing in yourself. The first thing is, what I believe in, and what people say about me is secondary. I have always been particular about paparazzi. I was very sceptical to allow cameras into my life, into my home and family. The argument was superior ; it was like all these years everybody has different opinions about you. Why don’t you give them a clear picture of who you are. So I decided to start the TV reality show,”Jim Iyke explained.

Jim Iyke Unscripted debuted in 2013, on Dstv showcasing the uncut life style of the actor .The series which ran for 13 weeks presented the other side of the controversial actor.

I'M NOT ACTING FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS - DESMOND ELLIOT 

After entertaining nollywood fans with great movies like ‘Guilty Pleasures’, ‘Bursting Out’, ‘Kiss & Tell’ and scores of others, fans of Nollywood actor turned politician, Desmond Elliott will have to wait for the next four years to see another movie from the actor who doubles as a filmmaker.

Speaking with NET at a recent event, the lawmaker who represents Surulere constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly disclosed that he will not be acting or releasing any movie for the period of his stay in the house as he is focused on the act of lawmaking.

‘There is nothing acting in all I do now, it’s the job as a legislator and doing work to ensure that there is a better structure in the industry,’ Desmond disclosed to NET. He however further revealed that he is still a part of the industry and will continue to support it.

When asked how he intends to use his new position to impact Nollywood, he simply said, ‘just wait and see’. He however further revealed that he is still a part of the industry and will continue to support it.

FAME HAS NOT CHANGED ME... - ENIOLA BADMUS 

Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has said she is not a bully but a clown. According to her she might act like one in the movies, but that is far from who she is. Speaking with Saturday beats Eniola said;

“If I were like the character you see on television, by now I am sure you would have heard series of news about me fighting on the streets. But I am not like that. I am an easy going person and can be a clown at times.”

Has fame changed her? She replies;

“Fame has not changed me in anyway. There is no where that I feel like going that I can’t go to. The only difference is that I may have to have some security around me while going to some places. I am a down-to-earth person. I still go to all those places I went before I became a celebrity but I may not be able to go alone. Such opportunities allow you connect with your beginnings.”

ALARIWO NEEDS YOUR HELP!!! 

Alariwo of Africa has confirmed he was diagnosed with a disease known as Varicocele(an enlargement of veins inside the scrotum).In an interview with Punch, the musician said that while it was true that he had an issue with his health, it was not as critical as the reports..Alariwo said:

“People have been speculating about my health lately. Some reports even said I was bedridden. This is not true. I was not bedridden and I have never been. But it is true that I am about to undergo surgery.I am still trying to find the right place to have it done. I have to choose either India, Germany, Israel, England or America. I have been taking some drugs to slow down the pain in my scrotum until I am ready to undergo surgery. All I just need is enough funds to travel abroad and treat it.

I have been going through a lot, these past weeks. My wife has been in the hospital for over one month. She has been down with acute pulmonary embolism. It has been very tough, but God has taken control. The doctors at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital said only a few people could survive the ailment. I am happy that she is one of them.

But her treatment has cost me quite a lot of money. I spent an average of N54,000 everyday for about 19 days. Apart from this, I was buying a drug called Clexin at N37,000 for her every week.She received a total of about 96 injections altogether on her shoulder during the period that she was undergoing treatment. And all that while, I didn’t leave her bedside. I was with her in the hospital.”

Before his wife’s case came up, the singer added, he had planned to raise funds and travel abroad for his own treatment. But, faced with a bigger challenge, he had to sell his car in order to pay her medical bills.He went on:

“Before now, I didn’t want to talk about my health or my wife’s illness or the challenges I have faced these past weeks. I had decided not to make my problems known to the public for some reasons. I guess the details were leaked through one or two friends of mine that I whispered to and they were blown out of proportion online. I never made a public appeal for funds nor called a press conference for that purpose.

But it is when you find yourself in a situation like this that you know those that are your true friends. A lot of people were kind enough to provide support during the crisis. I am talking about people like Ayo Animashaun, Otunba Sesan Rufai and many others.”

The singer was full of praises for popular stand-up comedian, Julius Agwu, who phoned a few days ago to surprise him with a donation of $35,000.

He said:

“Julius is the only entertainer that has volunteered to donate the sum of $35,000 to my cause. I was shocked when he called to say he would give me the money. Now what I should be looking for is the balance. I want to thank him for this wonderful gesture.”

Other friends and colleagues of the Crossover king, such as Agatha Amata and Dayo Adeneye, have also expressed their desire to support his quest for additional funding.

Alariwo still needs to raise some funds for his planned medical trip abroad. He needs about $130,000 for his own treatment and for what is left of his wife’s bills. Meanwhile, his wife is said to be getting better and responding to treatment.

FACEBOOK FOUNDER STATES; SAFETY CHECK HAVE BEEN ACTIVATED AGAIN AFTER THE BOMBING IN NIGERIA 

Founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg took to his Facebook wall to announce that they have activated the safety check on their site following the bomb blast in Yola, Adamawa state yesterday.

Facebook came under fire for a perceived Western bias when it activated Safety Check after the Paris attacks, with critics noting that terrorist attacks in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia hadn't previously warranted its deployment. The safety check enables Facebook users announce that they are still alive after a mishap in any troubled zone.

KARRUECHE GOES EMOTIONAL ABOUT HER VISIT TO NIGERIA 

Chris Brown's ex-girlfriend karrueche who visited Nigeria over the weekend has said she is grateful to God. The 27year old American model who came in for a day job, also took out time to visit an IDP camp in Abuja where she met some Boko Haram victims and said she cried at the thought of ever complaining about anything in life. She played with the children at the camp and told their mothers; she admired their strength and will be praying for them. 

"yesterday I had the opportunity to visit an IDP camp in Abuja where many of the #bringbackourgirls came to. I remember seeing the #bringbackourgirls movement on social media but seeing it in person was a much different experience. 

I was able to listen to this mothers story of her journey from Northern Nigeria. It was very heartbreaking to hear and to see their living conditions. She said when it rains, they have no choice but to stand, and there is little or no work for her husband. I told her I admire her for her strength and I will pray for her and her family everyday. 

This was a very humbling experience for me, I cried at the thought of ever complaining about anything in life. It is unfortunate but I know God will protect them. We cannot save the world but we can take small steps to help. 

Something about this Lil princess I was drawn to... Every time I looked at her, she kept giving me shy looks- asked her to come over to me and she gave me the biggest hug. 

I also was able to visit Hope for Survival Orphanage - this is 9 month old Comfort who went straight in my arms.. She was so cute and lovable."
